Chapter 5: More Questions
More Questions
“Trust yourself, you know more than you think you do.” Benjamin Spock
“Trust dies but mistrust blossoms.” Sophocles
Trust, a simple word but a difficult thing to do. These two quotes were very apparent to me when I wrote this chapter. After my break up I began doubting my instincts, my purpose and myself. Was I so wrong about her and if so am I wrong about people in general? I began to mistrust my instincts and myself.
Yet, as in Rally the Forces, I looked inside myself and I rallied my forces within my own soul to defend against the invaders of doubt and grief. Part of my forces was a call to arms to begin to trust myself again. I have always trusted my instincts in the past and they have never let me down. Why should I turn away from them now?
When writing this chapter I began taking control of my life again too. I began to trust my instincts and myself with situations and people again. It was not easy, but once I got started it became like riding a bike, you never truly forget.
In the fifth chapter, More Questions, the Captain encounters the invasion fleet from Pilsdreana. Lesser men might play it safe but “Fortune favours the Bold” Virgil. The Captain must be bold and daring to win the day. He begins to trust his judgment and at a pivotal moment he relies on his instincts. Have they been proven right?
You will have to find out for yourself.
Enjoy.
