Friday Two Cents: Summer Vacation Part 6: My Potential Is Limitless

twoCentsOldNew

This week I finished my Visual Arts part course and I have to say that even though it was a lot of work I enjoyed every minute of it. (You can see some of the art I did in the gallery below.) Today we did our final presentations and as made my way back home I had this profound sense of sorrow come over me. Not because I think that I failed, I know I did not, but the fact I was going back to Toronto. I felt these feelings when even I completed something like a play or performance. I enjoyed the journey of discovery and preparation but once I finally did it there was a part of me that … misses it.

I think that part of the issue is that the entire experience was like a vacation for me. I intended to view the whole experience as a journey of discovery, which is what I found that many of the most memorable vacations I have taken turn out to be. I so enjoyed not just the course by the city and people of Guelph.
Reflecting on the entire experience I know that my future has to involve art in some way. I learned and grown so much as an artist that I feel that I cannot contain it. I have discovered new mediums and techniques to explore. I feel that my possibilities are now only limited to my own imagination. I truly understand now what these famous words are trying to say to me …

‘Logic will get you from A to B. Imagination will take you everywhere.’ Albert Einstein

‘Imagination will often carry us to worlds that never were. But without it we go nowhere.’ Carl Sagan

‘You’re only given a little spark of madness. You mustn’t lose it.’ Robin Williams

‘If you can dream it, you can do it.’ Walt Disney

My potential is limitless.
