Comic Strips: What’s a Book?

As a recurring theme, the divide between the generations and technology is fun and ever-present.

I think the overall theme of the comic is self-explanatory.  With the new E-readers and pads, books are becoming part of the past.  However, there is a little hope for books.

After I published the newsletter and the children read the comic, many came up to me and asked why I wrote the comic.  I told them that many of them use the E-readers and other electronic devices to read material over actual books.  That pretty soon many of them will not even recognize what a book is.

But you know what many of them told me?  They actually prefer reading books to the devices.  Many said they like the feel of the pages, others that it doesn’t seem they are reading unless they have a book in their hands.  One girl told me that she likes the books because other people can see how thick the book is that she is reading and be impressed. Ha, ha, I liked that response the most.
