Comic Strips: We have all been there

Even if you don’t have kids, I think we have all been there when you had no choice but talk to your parents.  Your cd or MP3 player died or you finished that book you were reading and then they strike.  Your parents want to know how you are feeling.  Or worse what’s new in you life.

Hay parents, the kids at my school do the same thing to me too.  On certain days we allow iPods, DS’s or PSP’s in the school and all they want to do is just sit there and play and play and play.  Even when it is time to go outside for some fun and exercise, they want to bring them out and play (we say no electronics outside on those days).

Many of the children ask me why I use the technology issue in many of my comics.  I just say that it is one of the things both kids and adults understand.  I think many of us have grown up with computers, video games or some other electronic device that our parents have no idea about.

Wait!  Before any of you say that you never had a computer, so this does not apply to me, all I will say is TV.  TV came out in the 50s and many young people them new about that new technology when their parents did not.  Or what about pinball machines, or jukeboxes, sound familiar?

The difference in the generations can be a little stressful, but that does not mean that we can’t have a few laughs.  Oh and by the way, any of you in the Boomer echo generation (20 yrs. – 30 yrs.) your kids will do the same to you.  When that happens, you will then see your parents in the background pumping their fists for joy saying, “YES!!! REVENGE IS MIND!” 😉
